Childhood Vanitas
Childhood Vanitas

Within the process of growing up there seemingly is a loss of mystery and curiosity happening within the perception of the everyday life. But in the memories of their lost childhood home there only are the memories left of the magic of late summer days spent playing with the fallen rose petals along the cobble path next to the house towards the entry door. The glass petals fallen from long passed and removed flowers as the only proof they were existing. The Vase in the shape of an Urn is a reminder of the shift of perspective the further you mature into life you might not recognize the Vase but the Urn - waiting for the final use.
‘Childhood Vanitas’ was shown at Rike Sievert’s solo-exhibition ‘things we hold dear’ in January 2026 at Atelier Gröbl, Koblenz.
